Glade VFD is one of three fire departments found in District 4 of the Jones County Volunteer Fire Service. Glade VFD services an area of ?? square miles, which can be found on the map below.
First established in 1988, Glade VFD now employees 20 volunteer firefighters, both men and women, of all ages. The ?? bay station houses a ?? Engine, a ?? Tanker, a ?? Rescue, and a ?? Brush truck.
Glade currently enlists the assistance of ?? Firefighter 1 certified volunteers and ?? certified Emergency Medical Responders.
Fully equipped to handle structure fires, brush fires and vehicle accidents, Glade Volunteer Fire Department is dedicated to their community.
Glade is an all risk, community based emergency response agency providing not only response to fires but to medical incidents, vehicle accidents, hazardous materials incidents, water rescue incidents, and other rescues and weather-related incidents. Glade VFD works closely with the 17 other Volunteer Fire Departments in Jones County and departments in other counties when requested. In 2016, Glade VFD responded to over 450 incidents. Glade currently provides their services with an engine, tanker, 2 brush engines, a heavy rescue and a light rescue. Applications for membership and a background check are required. Training and certifications are at no cost to the member.
As with all of the Jones County Volunteer Fire Departments, more dedicated individuals are encouraged and invited to become a member of Glade Volunteer Fire Department.
